En 2026, 17 miembros de la comunidad TDR Global de África, Asia y Latinoamérica y el Caribe (LAC) recibieron becas completas para participar en cursos cortos virtuales ofrecidos por McGill Summer Institutes in Global Health, además, se brindó un descuento adicional en todo el portafolio de cursos para miembros del TDR global. Esta institución cuenta con 11 años de trayectoria en el fortalecimiento de capacidades en salud global, enfermedades infecciosas y equidad en salud.
Destacamos el generoso apoyo de McGill Summer Institutes in Global Health que amplía el acceso de investigadores y profesionales de la salud de países de bajos y medianos ingresos a una oferta educativa de alta calidad en salud global. Estas oportunidades de formación contribuyen a fortalecer conocimientos y habilidades científicas, favoreciendo el desarrollo de capacidades en investigación y de sistemas de salud más sólidos en nuestras regiones.
Las 17 becas completas se distribuyeron de la siguiente manera:
África – 6 becas:
- 5 participantes en el curso “One Health Approaches to Infectious Disease Control”.
- 1 participante en el curso “Global Point of Care Diagnostics”.
Asia – 4 becas:
- 4 participantes en el curso “One Health Approaches to Infectious Disease Control”.
Latinoamérica y el Caribe – 7 becas:
- 1 participante en el curso One Health Approaches to Infectious Disease Control”
- 5 participantes en el curso “Enfoques Etnográficos para Investigación en Salud Global” (ofrecido en español).
- 1 participante en el curso “Global Point of Care Diagnostics”.

McGill Summer Institutes in Global Health provides scholarships for members of the TDR Global community
In 2026, 17 members of the TDR Global community from Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) received full scholarships from the McGill Summer Institutes in Global Health to participate in virtual short courses offered by the Institutes, which offered additional discounts on all courses for TDR Global members. With 11 years of experience, McGill Summer Institutes in Global Health has contributed to strengthening capacities in global health, infectious diseases, and health equity.
We recognize the generous support of McGill Summer Institutes in Global Health, which helps expand access for researchers and health professionals from low- and middle-income countries to high-quality educational opportunities in global health. These training opportunities contribute to strengthening scientific knowledge and skills, while fostering research capacity development and more resilient health systems in our regions.
The 17 full scholarships were distributed as follows:
Africa – 6 scholarships:
- 5 participants in the course “One Health Approaches to Infectious Disease Control”.
- 1 participant in the course “Global Point of Care Diagnostics”.
