As the Director of CIDEIM I seek and am committed to building a relevant and rigorous research and training program that addresses the challenges of infectious diseases in Colombia and the region. This requires outreach and collaboration with national and international colleagues and institutions, and a highly integrated, and deeply committed interdisciplinary research and support team. United by belief in our mission, trust in ourselves and our partners, and guided by lessons learned in the field among diverse communities and ecological settings, in the clinic, and the laboratory, the people of CIDEIM (Personnel, Board of Directors and Collaborators) have, and will continue to make a difference. In leading CIDEIM, my duty is to nurture, build, and build upon, the capacities and qualities of our people and organization to enable institutionalized scientific endeavor and achievement, and to promote the development and renewal of institutional leadership.
