CIDEIM participates in national and international calls for proposals and competes for resources to finance research projects. We have received funding from, among others, the following agencies:

• National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID-NIH)
• Fogarty International Center
• Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)
• Special Programme for Research & Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR) sponsored by UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/WHO
• Wellcome Trust
• UBS Optimus Foundation

In addition to project funds, we have secured programmatic support during different periods, for example by the Wellcome Trust (2000-2005), and the International Collaboration in Infectious Disease Research (ICIDR) Program of the NIH (2005-2010).  Funding at the program level has allowed CIDEIM to establish its international competitivity and complement the funding obtained through national sources.
